Academic Service

It is not always pure fun, but of course it is critically important to be committed to academic service. I have reviewed book proposals and manuscripts for academic publishers, peer-reviewed manuscripts for publication in scholarly journals, and served as chair or discussant on conference panels.

Recently, I co-founded KISA, the Korean International Studies Association, and I continue to serve as its Secretary-General.

In 2001, I set up the Program for Education in Global Affairs (PEGA). Sponsored byLufthansa German Airlines, I facilitated Prof. Burkhard Schrage's visit to the National University of Social Sciences/Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City/Vietnam, where he conducted a compact academic course.
